Dennis Adler

Dennis Adler is the chief technical officer of MetaJure Inc. After leaving Microsoft in 2006, Dennis founded D. Adler & Associates Inc., a consulting firm. With nearly 30 years of experience in technology-related businesses, Dennis brings a unique blend of talent and experience to MetaJure.

When he left Microsoft, Dennis was the general manager of Business Development for the Microsoft Research (MSR) Advanced Technology Center (ATC). In that role, he worked with product groups across the company, matching technology transfer and consulting opportunities with the expertise and resources of ATC. Previously, Dennis was the first director-at-large in MSR, working on a variety of projects, including anti-SPAM technologies, advanced graphics, reconciliation of Web Services protocols with various platform initiatives, and investigations into new user and document paradigms for Windows Vista.

While a director for MSR, Dennis led a team from Research to the Windows Server Division and oversaw the initial development of a new server deployment and management technology that shipped with Windows Server 2003; formed the University Relations Group in MSR and oversaw its rapid growth and initial expansion into Europe and Asia; was instrumental in MSR’s initial external public relations endeavors; and was a liaison between MSR and Microsoft’s product teams, as well as a group program manager in the Personal Systems Division. Dennis led the team responsible for designing and overseeing the development of the core components for Windows 95.

Dennis’ earlier work at Microsoft (starting in 1989) covered a variety of product areas and responsibilities, including technical manager for the Microsoft Developer Network during its creation and subsequent launch, TrueType program manager for Windows 3.1, type manager for Microsoft’s Systems products, and OS/2 program manager. He is the holder of three Microsoft patents and has negotiated several key agreements and contracts between Microsoft and third parties.

Dennis joined Microsoft from Marketron in Woodland Hills, California. Prior to this, he worked for a number of small firms, including his own.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from UCLA, is active in the Alliance of Angels in Seattle, and is a board member of Rovrr and MailChannels.
