Donald Jones serves as vice president of Business Development for Health and Life Sciences at QUALCOMM Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading QUALCOMM's efforts to enable the use of wireless technologies in the health and medical device markets. He is also a founder and board member of the Wireless Life Sciences Alliance, an organization that works with both the wireless and life science industries to enable new business models and business process improvements in all sectors of the life sciences industry, including healthcare services, healthcare information technology, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

Prior to joining QUALCOMM, Don spent 22 years developing and growing healthcare enterprises. He served as chief operating officer of MedTrans (now American Medical Response), the world's largest emergency medical services provider. He also served as founder and chairman of EMME, Mexico's largest member-based health service. Don was senior vice president of marketing for HealthCap, at that time the second-largest provider of women's healthcare in the United States. He also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, having been involved in more than 100 acquisitions.

Don helped develop the $1 billion critical-care transportation sector in the emergency medical services market, where he assisted in the development of EMCARE, the largest emergency medicine practice in the United States. He also successfully launched American Medical Pathways, winner of a $600 million healthcare call-center contract. He is a founding shareholder of Golden Hour Data Systems, the largest supplier of information solutions to the aero-medical industry. In 1998, Don was asked by the director of the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) to author the federal government's "EMS Implementation Guide for the Future." In 2000, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) named Don one of the "20 Most Influential People in EMS."

Most recently, Don has been invited to join the World Health Organization's strategic advisory group of experts for the Global Observatory for eHealth, and the Alliance Health Foundation Board. He is a board member of The Classroom of the Future and the founder of the Wireless Life Science Convergence Summit, a prominent event hosted by the CEO of QUALCOMM and the chief scientific officer of Johnson & Johnson.

Don holds bachelors' degrees in Biology and Bio-engineering from the University of California, San Diego; a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego; and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
