Tim DiScipio

Tim DiScipio is chairman and co-founder of ePALS Classroom Exchange (www.epals.com), the leading provider of school-safe email, blogs, and eMentoring technology for the global K-12 market. ePALS also maintains the largest online classroom community, connecting 6.5 million students and teachers in 191 countries for online cross-cultural penpal exchanges, language learning, and classroom-to-classroom project sharing.

Tim directs company strategy, marketing, and business development. He was the key force behind partnerships with IBM and Scholastic, as well as the Los Angeles Unified School District selecting the company's SchoolMail product as its district-wide email solution. Much of his time is currently spent opening the Asian market with partners and ministries of education to develop country-wide versions of the ePALS Global Network.

An innovator in online marketing since 1989, Tim founded Easton Media Group and HyperConnect Interactive, early Internet design and media agencies, with clients including GE, Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages, VerticalNet, Dun & Bradstreet, AT&T, and Infoseek. He has been sourced by industry pioneers and major publications as placing some of the Internet's first major media and search-engine keyword campaigns.

Tim spent seven years as director of New Business Development for TMP Worldwide (parent of Monster.com), where he led TMP's early interest and entry into interactive media. He is on the advisory board of HygeiaĆ, a nonprofit organization improving universal access to healthcare information, technology, and services relating to maternal and child health. A former collegiate 3,000-meter NCAA Track and Field Championship finalist, Tim is still a competitive distance runner. He is a musician and a collector of vintage guitars.
