Jay Arnold

After a successful career in software development, Jay Arnold is merging his technology expertise and interest in politics and public policy. He serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations, including 1000 Friends of Washington, promoting smart growth, developing effective transportation policy, and protecting forest and farmland; and Northwest SEED, which is deploying small-scale wind turbines on farms in the Pacific Northwest to promote economic development in rural areas. He also works to leverage technology into the work of small business, nonprofits, and political organizations through his consulting business, WINtegrated Solutions.

Previously, Jay worked at Microsoft for 14 years as a project manager, group manager, test manager, and engineer. As project manager for the MSN 9 wave of releases, Jay led the cross-team effort of MSN client, services, and site development teams, with close work with operations, support, and marketing. The resultant MSN Premium subscription, launched in January 2004, includes features for online protection, rich communication, and sharing, and useful tools for organizing photos, finances, and the information you care about. Previously, Jay managed the MSN Explorer team, developing MSN's co-branded clients with business partners, and managed test teams for MSN Explorer, Internet Explorer, Windows 95, and MS-DOS.
