The very idea of &quot;saved&quot; jobs is ludicrous.
Socialism has never worked anywhere and in fact the Europeans whom we are ardently urged to mimic made a huge right turn in their elections this weekend.  Socialim creates equal misery for all but the politicians.</description>

		<description>Nice article. I don&#039;t dispute that the US Govt. spent vastly during WWII, but I would point out that the US did join that war late. So, perhaps it was foreign govt.&#039;s expenditure - of Britain, France, Germany - re-armament, actual war-time expenditure and  consumer good substitution -  that at least aided the US economy. It doesn&#039;t invalidate your argument - it&#039;s still government expenditure, after all.</description>
