Socialim creates equal misery for all but the politicians. I don't dispute that the US Govt. spent vastly during WWII, but I would point out that the US did join that war late. So, perhaps it was foreign govt.'s expenditure - of Britain, France, Germany - re-armament, actual war-time expenditure and consumer good substitution - that at least aided the US economy. It doesn't invalidate your argument - it's still government expenditure, after all. Nice article.
