Steve didn't mention one critical 'pattern' namely that we have a hundred or more of our largest banks broke and broken. The folks in Steve's audience may need to une day realize that our banks need to be declared bankrupt, the bad debts written off, then recapitalized and reprivatized. History tells us a turbo-tarp is needed where the government goes all the way with our sickest banks. Take them over, fix them. Refloat them. Stimulous and innovation won't be enough if we can't fund the development and marketing of those innovations! Ok we gorged on debt and the system and our financial health is very sick.
